FAQs
Recruitment and employment agencies provide services to individuals looking for work and also to employers who are looking to recruit.
Their aim is to bring together, candidates and employers who are genuinely suited to one another to create a successful working environment.
Registering with a recruitment agency can be an extremely effective way of getting your details to a huge number of companies in one go.
Very often the best jobs are not advertised in the general press.
Companies are using agencies to recruit for them more and more, as they don't always have the time or expertise in-house.
It therefore makes sense for anyone who is looking for a new job or a career change, to register with a reputable agency. The more you market your talents and qualifications this way, the greater your chance of success!
In short, absolutely anyone and everyone can join an agency.
There is now practically an agency to cater for every industry type.
You can use an agency if you are in a job and want to simply test what the job market has to offer or you could be out of work and need to find a new job.
We can be used merely on a consulting level or activley seek to provide staffing solutions for a live employer requirement.
Most people today make contact with an agency in a number of ways with email and the internet being the most popular. You could also phone the agency to make the initial introduction.
All agencies will require a copy of your current C.V, and a covering letter outlining and specific needs you have. The C.V. and covering letter can be posted, faxed, emailed or even registered on-line.
Once your C.V has been received you will usually be contacted in person.
This could take the form of a telephone conversation, a personal meeting or sometimes an email. Once the C.V has been sent to the agency and you have made contact with a recruitment consultant the onus will be on you to keep track of what the agency is doing for you.
If you haven't heard from the agency for a week or two it is in your interests to ring them and let them know you are still looking for work. If you have a tendency to sit back and wait for a job to come to you, it may never arrive!
All information is handled with complete confidentiality, and the provisions of The Data Protection Act are observed at all times.
Most good agencies are members of REC the Recruitment & Employers Confederation; this means that your personal information will never be disclosed unless they have spoken to you first and obtained your consent.
Recruitment agencies are committed to the policy of equal opportunity in employment.
This policy ensures that no job applicant will receive less favorable treatment on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, religion, age, sex, marital status or disability.
You will not be recommended for any vacancy that you feel you may be unsuitable for due to lack of capabilities/experience, or because you have moral objections to a company's activities/products etc.
It costs you absolutely nothing! Agencies are usually paid commission based on a percentage of your annual salary by the employing company; it is in their interest to find the right candidate for the right job.
For the employer we offer a free service until the candidate of your choice is succesfully placed. At that stage we charge a percentage of the first year annual remuneration as well as offering a protection on the investment by offering a sliding scale of rebate versus time spent in the role.
